Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Everneath by Brodi Ashton is a wonderful twist on the Hades and Persephone myth with elements of fae myths woven in for good measure. The book was fast paced, the characters well defined, and the story line perfectly wonderful. I loved the characters from the very beginning, especially Cole!!

Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath. Now she’s returned—to her old life, her family, her boyfriend—before she’s banished back to the underworld . . . this time forever. She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can’t find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.
Nikki longs to spend these precious months forgetting the Everneath and trying to reconnect with her boyfriend, Jack, the person most devastated by her disappearance—and the one person she loves more than anything. But there’s just one problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who enticed her to the Everneath in the first place, has followed Nikki home. Cole wants to take over the throne in the underworld and is convinced Nikki is the key to making it happen. And he’ll do whatever it takes to bring her back, this time as his queen.
As Nikki’s time on the Surface draws to a close and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she is forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole’s queen.

The story had twists in it and great folklore. The lore was very believable, giving the reader the sense that something like this could actually happen. I give this book a 5/5 for keeping me engaged, having a great story, a plot that flowed beautifully, and for being a quick read. Overall this book is amazing and I recommend anyone who likes fairies, fantasy novels, and Greek myths to read it! It has something in it for almost everyone.

Happy reading!

Plus One by Elizabeth Fama

Plus One by Elizabeth Fama was absolutely amazingly good. Lots of plot twists and great character development! The book has romance, adventure, action... Lots of amazing stuff all rolled into one to give a superb reading experience! The character Sol was so dynamic and entertaining and the story unfolded rapidly.

Divided by day and night and on the run from authorities, star-crossed young lovers unearth a sinister conspiracy in this compelling romantic thriller.
Seventeen-year-old Soleil Le Coeur is a Smudge--a night dweller prohibited by law from going out during the day. When she fakes an injury in order to get access to and kidnap her newborn niece--a day dweller, or Ray--she sets in motion a fast-paced adventure that will bring her into conflict with the powerful lawmakers who order her world, and draw her together with the boy she was destined to fall in love with, but who is also a Ray.

Plus one had vivid characters that captivated me from the first page. This book was so well written and very enjoyable. Sol and her world were very well thought out and executed nicely. The world of Rays and Smudges was amazing!! The plot had lots of twists but I can’t say anything more without spoiling it! I give this book a 5/5 for being amazing! The plot was great, the characters were well thought out and grew throughout the story, the setting was amazingly unique and new which is kinda hard to find in young adult novels these days. I recommend this book to fans of Dystopian/Utopian books.
Happy reading!
